I got married on my parent's farm in May 2019. I'm terrible at styling my own hair, and I like more of a natural look, so I wasn't sure how I was going to wear my hair on the big day. I went to Lisa - knowing she was one of the only people I would trust to do my hair - and asked her if she would be willing to style my hair that day as well as my mom and sisters. Back then, EV1 was not offering bridal party styling or services, but Lisa made an exception for me since I had been a frequent customer. She said she would happily do my hair on that special day and that she could accommodate my bridal party as well. She offered to come to our house (a 20 minute drive out to the country) or said we could all come to the salon that morning. I was very appreciative of her flexibility with accommodating what worked best for our schedule as wedding days can be quite hectic!

 

Leading up to the wedding, Lisa and I talked about different styles. I told her a little bit about my vision, but I also wanted to hear what she had in mind since she's so good at knowing what looks good on people. I wanted to put flowers in my hair, and she was able to tell me exactly what to tell my florist to do as well as what kind of hair clips to get. We did a trial run before the wedding to make sure I was happy with the style we chose. Her team also put a gloss in my hair a couple of weeks before the wedding, and I was very pleased with the natural color and shine it brought out. I chose to have my sister do my makeup the day of the wedding, but Lisa has recommendations for makeup artists if you want that service as well, and even clothing stylists. 

 

My mom also decided to start going to Lisa before the wedding to make sure she had the right cut before the big day. They really hit it off, and getting her haircuts with Lisa became one of the highlights of wedding prep for her.

Not only did Lisa do my hair the day of the wedding, she also did my rehearsal dinner hair. I wore my hair down for the rehearsal dinner and up for the wedding so that I would have two completely different looks. 

 

On the morning of the wedding, my family and I opted to go to the salon, and Lisa and her team welcomed us with open arms and made us feel like movie stars. They provided snacks and mimosas, and we had the place to ourselves, which was so much fun. They were extremely organized and knew how to time us all so that we were in there with enough time but also out of there with plenty of time to get home for the rest of the day's events. Lisa's team was able to bring each of our different hairstyles to life that matched our personalities, giving my sisters gorgeous natural looking low buns. My middle sister even had a beautiful braid put in that wrapped around one side. My mom has short hair, which can be tough to make it look different than it normally does, but Lisa was able to give her hair a unique look for the occasion, making her stand out as Mother of the Bride. Lisa also gave me the look I was going for, a natural looking updo that didn't look "fake" but also would hold up well for the day's events.

 

Most importantly, Lisa and her team allowed us to relax and have fun that morning. Lisa truly cares about each one of her client's, and her laid-back personality and humor, coupled with her years of experience and talent, created an environment of trust, ease, and an all-around good time before the ceremony, which is important when you have so many big things happening in one day. And hair is usually the first thing you do, so EV1 set the tone for the rest of the day. 

 

I highly recommend Lisa and her team at EV1 for bridal styling. They are professional, friendly, very talented, and all around cool people. I wish I could do it all over again!
